Frightened Horses

And like many men I sat high up in that saddle

With leather straps and stirrups tightened

To accomodate my wayward wrists and ankles

Enduring slings and arrows I rode that horse Independance

Till the spark in her beauty, pain and struggle

Reared up that horse and frightened of falling,

I did, like a tiger I sprang up to self knowledge

Her love exploding these scales from my eyes

The road to freedom is a longer journey but

She ignites my soul and calms the frightened horses.
