It’s Remembrance Day,
at Passchendaele,
as you laid a wreath,
for both sides,
your thoughts were occupied
with lost comrades,
as we stood silently
remembering your sacrifice
and the sacrifice of your comrades,
in every war.
you knowing more than any of us
that this war must
someday end.
