Percussive Music

The beat begins steady
there upon your belly
as my fingers skip
lightly across
your skin
tapping
gentle rhythmic
sonorous,

The beat expounds,
as I tap harder
on your ribs
the hollow echo reveals
a secret trap door
where cadences weighed
in bars of gold

The surges of movement
orchestrating
my fingers running
through your ruffled hair
stirring
the wind chimes
ringing
from your ears,

I fell for you
like percussive music.

A dialectical site of poetry, painting and the odd musical excursion into the unknown.
