The Extra Mile

If the morning light should find me
full of darkness from the night
full of doubt and disbelieving in the fight
If I weaken from the distance
help me run the extra mile

On a journey towards the centre
you can easily lose your way
gone tomorrow,
everything you had today

And when friends are full of doubting
telling me I’ve lost my way
give me strength to face them truthfully
and not be swayed

If I weaken from the distance
help me run the extra mile
help me run the extra mile.

I think I have learned to let Hope go and carry Faith with me, it made me see myself not as lost but just taking a detour in direction I needed to experience something to keep Faith alive…

this is beautiful Lee, I have missed wandering within your thoughts…
sometimes that detour takes awhile to focus again
Thank you for sharing ….
Take Care…You Matter…

Hello Mary, your words resinate once again inside my thoughts. I have many questions of faith. I feel very often that through life we are faced with doubt. Its human to feel that we are constantly ‘on detour’ in faith, in ourselves, each other and a higher purpose. This is when I need to walk that extra mile, before I stop, before I give up.

Its like Sting said… if I ever lose my faith in you, there’d be nothing left for me to do. Actually I think Sting was expressing more than faith, it was courage to not stop. To not forget the practice of compassionate living. A core practice beyond faith, before faith is even confirmed. Maybe you feel that way, I don’t know. But I wish you well, whatever your faith…
