The road ahead

We might hold
simple minds
But we can’t
go backwards

Her new fortress

Her new fortress
Of feelings comes
With a white flag
There up on high

Like the forgotten
Long distant calls
Rubs against her
Heart and thigh

In purple

In purple she
Doesn’t mind
Cottoning onto
A different husk

Waking colours
He lingers on
Summer’s day
Dawn to dusk

lip service

Watching you
Your lips puck
They suck me
Closer deeper

So suggesting,
And projecting
Intensified by
Your smile

the lost child

When they knew
That the child gone
They ran frantically
Through the park
He deep breathing
She couldn’t breathe
Together for a moment
United in helpless panic
Seeing one children
After another and more
They looked like you
But you were there
Sitting obliviously
Unaware of it all
Then by her strenght
Renewed holding you
Her mind pleading
“Don’t ever do
that again…”

Noah said to Darwin “let’s do lunch”

Was Noah’s ark

designed too small,

knowing the dinosaur’s

great down fall?

Or is Noah’s dilemma

in Darwin’s reflection,

another example

of natural selection?

Shedhomeshed

In 2005 Shedboatshed (Mobile Architecture No 2) was awarded the Tate Modern Turner Prize. Simon Starling describes his work as ‘the physical manifestation of a thought process’, revealing hidden histories and relationships.

I didn’t “get it” then, but now I do. Though my shed is intact (for now), it could become many possibilities. A boat? I think not, being that I have one already in my other blog. A castle? that is a promising idea, though I expect that the turrets wouldn’t withstand the supporting structure. A Dojo for meditation? Maybe, but can you see the light in that? A home? it is this already.

It is my home, and for now I relax there. It’s always time for tea and the shed here is never locked. Come pay me a visit sometime. I’ll get the billy on.

we tried, but failed

Dreamtime and Songlines

‘What’s the purpose of staying up all night?’ Minar asked.

Robertson looked at him meaningfully. ‘Dreamings,’ he said.

The returning point of no return

And so,

few people find love.

In order to love,

you must give

something

of yourself away,

something you must

be willing to give

without expecting

a return.

Big and strong

We broke bread on the mountain

as sheep held communion

knowing our silences

We heard birdsong

kissing the air as you smiled,

sweeping aside failed attempts

trying to be big

and strong but the lingering

imprint of remains on my mind

Open Heart Procedures

as the man on his back

and larynx intubated

they cracked open his chest

there red and ragged

was it oddly beautiful

like an exploded star

like the heart of an idea

bursting into existence

Peace

Circumstances always

repeat themselves

to break this cycle

if it is ever possible,

takes generations

perhaps hundreds of years

sometimes the continuous presence

of a common enemy.

Those who expect it

in the short term

display the usual disregard for,

or ignorance of, history.

How To Handle Longing

Choose a purpose

(any will do,

’cause the ocean is vast

and longing can fill

that a dozen times over)

Get on with it

(stop sinking

and start swimming;

’cause indecision is not

a legitimate reason

for drowning)
